Washington Capitals forward T.J. Oshie has returned home early from the Capitals western road trip to be with his wife, Lauren, for the birth of their fourth child.
Washington Capitals forward T.J. Oshie is D.C.-bound and has left the road trip early to be with his wife for the birth of their fourth child.
Oshie and his wife, Lauren, are expecting a baby girl. Washington is closing out a three-game road swing against the Colorado Avalanche on Tuesday.
Given the circumstances, Oshie is unlikely to play on Tuesday against Colorado. Alex Ovechkin is day-to-day with a lower-body injury, and it remains unclear whether or not he will be in the lineup against the Avalanche. If Ovechkin and Oshie are out, Aliaksei Protas is the 14th forward who would draw into the mix.
Through 32 games this season, Oshie has 10 goals and seven assists for 17 points.
