ARLINGTON, V.A. — The Washington Capitals got a great sign on the injury front, as forward T.J. Oshie was back on the ice in a non-contact jersey for the team's optional skate.

Oshie was moving quite a bit and showing off some skills and looked to be in high spirits in his return.

The 36-year-old hasn't played since Dec. 17 against the Toronto Maple Leafs. In the second period of that game, he pulled up while backchecking in visible pain. He went immediately to the bench, and after standing for a moment, went down the tunnel. He has missed the last three games with an upper-body injury.
