Capitals Recall 2, Set Opening Night Roster

After making two moves Wednesday, the Washington Capitals have finalized their roster heading into Friday’s regular season opener.

Connor McMichael and Aliaksei Protas, who were sent down to Hershey as the Capitals maneuvered around the salary cap, each returned to Washington, with Ivan Miroshnichenko and Riley Sutter being loaned to Hershey.

Here’s the Capitals’ full opening-night roster:

Forwards (13): Nicklas Backstrom, Nic Dowd, Evgeny Kuznetsov, Beck Malenstyn, Anthony Mantha, Connor McMichael, Sonny Milano, TJ Oshie, Alex Ovechkin, Matthew Phillips, Aliaksei Protas, Dylan Strome, Tom Wilson

Defense (8): Alex Alexeyev, John Carlson, Joel Edmundson (IR), Martin Fehervary, Nick Jensen, Lucas Johansen, Rasmus Sandin, Trevor van Riemsdyk

Goalies (2): Darcy Kuemper, Charlie Lindgren

Long-term Injured Reserve (1): Max Pacioretty

The Capitals will host Pittsburgh at Capital One Arena on Friday. Puck drop is scheduled for 7 p.m.
