The Washington Capitals’ 2022 canine calendar is finally here, and it’s all for a great cause.

Washington’s canine calendar features a number of players and some very good boys and girls.

John Carlson, Nic Dowd, Lars Eller, Garnet Hathaway, Nick Jensen, Anthony Mantha, T.J. Oshie, Alex Ovechkin, Conor Sheary, Justin Schultz, Trevor van Riemsdyk and Tom Wilson all posed with their own dogs. Meanwhile, Dennis Cholowski, Martin Fehervary, Carl Hagelin, Matt Irwin, Evgeny Kuznetsov, Hendrix Lapierre, Connor McMichael, Dmitry Orlov, Ilya Samsonov, Daniel Sprong and Vitek Vanecek all took pictures with WTAR dogs. Nicklas Backstrom also posed with Biscuit.

The calendars are $20, with all proceeds benefitting the Wolf Trap Animal Rescue and Monumental Sports & Entertainment Foundation. They can be purchased at washcaps.com/caninecalendars, as well as at the team stores at MedStar Capitals Iceplex and Capital One Arena. There will be a limited amount for purchase at Thursday’s game against the Chicago Blackhawks, with more also coming for Saturday’s tilt with the Columbus Blue Jackets.

The Wolf Trap Animal Rescue is a non-profit organization “with the primary mission to operate a life-saving animal rescue transport and adoption program.” They rescue homeless puppies and kittens from Mississippi and place them in foster homes in Northern Virginia and also help them find their forever homes.

MSE Foundation supports the Greater Washington region and supports “game-changing solutions for our community.”

Since 2012, the Capitals Canine Calendars have raised nearly $570,000 for local animal shelters.

Washington held its annual Canine Calendar shoot on Oct. 28 at MedStar Capitals Iceplex. Virgil Ocampo Photography provided photography services. Paige Dowd, Taylor Pischke and Annie van Riemsdyk worked as art directors for the 2022 calendar.
