GALLERY: Looking Back At WHN’s Top Capitals Pics, Moments From March
WASHINGTON, D.C. — With Washington Capitals making their final push for the 2022 Stanley Cup Playoffs in April, Washington Hockey Now is revisiting a wild March.
Washington saw a turnaround in the third calendar month of 2022. The Capitals started March off with a 7-0-1 record and ending 9-3-1. They also saw quite a few milestones. Ovechkin and Backstrom skated in their 1,000th career game together in Calgary on March 8. One night later, Nicklas Backstrom hit 1,000 career NHL points vs. Edmonton. Then, Alex Ovechkin moved past Jaromir Jagr for third on the NHL’s all-time goals list with his 767th goal on March 15 against New York.
Beyond the milestones, here are a few of our favorite photos, courtesy of Sammi Silber and photo editor Michael Giammetta.
