Backstrom Upgrades To Contact Jersey For Capitals, Team Gives Update
Washington Capitals forward Nicklas Backstrom has upgraded to a regular jersey.
ARLINGTON, V.A. — Washington Capitals forward Nicklas Backstrom took a big step forward in his recovery, as he upgraded to a regular jersey at Saturday's morning skate.
With the switch to a regular jersey, he is eligible to take part in contact. Per the team, though, he is still "ways away" from returning.
It's a big step forward for No. 19, who underwent hip resurfacing surgery in June.
Tom Wilson is not in a regular jersey, but Beck Malenstyn is.
