The Washington Capitals got some encouraging news on the injury front, as defensemen Nick Jensen and Martin Fehervary took the ice on Monday in non-contact jerseys.

Per The Athletic's Tarik El-Bashir, both were on the ice ahead of the team's morning skate against the Los Angeles Kings, marking the first time they've skated with the team since being hurt in Wednesday's 3-2 overtime win over the Anaheim Ducks.

Jensen left Wednesday's game with an upper-body injury after taking an awkward bump along the boards from Simon Benoit. Then, later in the game, Fehervary exited with a lower-body injury, though it's unclear what happened. Both are not on the injured reserve at this time.

With Jensen and Fehervary still working their way back, Vincent Iorio and Gabriel Carlsson have been recalled from Hershey, along with Dylan McIlrath. There are seven healthy blueliners available to the team right now.
