WASHINGTON — John Carlson has left the Washington Capitals' tilt with the Winnipeg Jets after taking a puck to the right side of his face on Friday.
Brenden Dillon's point shot hit No. 74 right in the face, near the ear and cheek. He immediately went down and started bleeding profusely from the face. The incident left a lot of blood on the ice as his teammates rushed him to the bench, where trainers took him down the tunnel.
