WASHINGTON — With the Washington Capitals trailing 4-1 late in the second and needing a spark, T.J. Oshie and his linemates crashed the net. As the whistle blew for the face-off, he got a shove from behind from Matthew Tkachuk, and after that, all frustration boiled over for Oshie as a scrum ensued in front.

No. 77 threw some punches and went after Ryan Lomberg. Tkachuk pulled Oshie off of Lomberg, and the two then exchanged words as Oshie tried to go after Tkachuk. The referees kept them separated, though, and ultimately got both teams away from one another.

Oshie and Lomberg got matching roughing minors, but Oshie got an additional unsportsmanlike penalty, leading to a power play for Florida going into the third.

It wasn't the first time Oshie got into it with Tkachuk on Thursday, as he threw a big hit on Florida's leading scorer earlier in the game. Tkachuk also had Oshie's number throughout the night and continued to take shots at the 35-year-old forward over the course of the game.
