The Washington Capitals lost Evgeny Kuznetsov after a huge hit, but he returned for OT.
WASHINGTON — Washington Capitals saw Evgeny Kuznetsov leave Monday's game against the Detroit Red Wings after taking a huge hit, but he somehow returned for overtime.
In the third period, Kuznetsov took a huge open-ice hit from Moritz Seider at the blue line after making a pass in the offensive zone. He went down hard and stayed down in visible pain. There was no call on the play.
Kuznetsov got up and headed to the bench doubled over. He stayed on the bench for a short time before heading to the locker room. He returned to open OT.
