RALEIGH, N.C. — The Washington Capitals have made some moves following their 4-1 Stadium Series loss on Saturday, loaning Joe Snively to the AHL's Hershey Bears and recalling defenseman Dylan McIlrath just one day after his initial re-assignment.

Snively came up from Hershey last week with Alex Ovechkin away from the team indefinitely following the death of his father. The Herndon, Virginia native appeared in two games and picked up a goal and an assist. He made the Stadium Series trip, but was a healthy scratch with Tom Wilson returning from the injured reserve and Marcus Johansson able to play after being hurt in Thursday's loss to the Florida Panthers.

Meanwhile, McIlrath will come back up to the big club ahead of Tuesday's game against his former Detroit Red Wings. The 6-5 blueliner played on Thursday against Florida and had five hits, a block, four shot attempts and a +/- rating of minus-2 through 11:31 minutes. He did make the trip to Raleigh but had been sent back down on Saturday.
