GOTTA SEE IT: Brown, Strome Score First Goals For Capitals vs. Flyers
Making their Washington Capitals debuts on Wednesday against the Philadelphia Flyers, Connor Brown and Dylan Strome didn’t disappoint, getting on the scoresheet in quick time.
Brown and Strome scored within 3:19 minutes of each other, with Brown striking at even strength and Strome on the man advantage.
Just 4:23 minutes into the second period of a 0-0 tilt in Philly, Bobby Nardella made a great read, jumping up in the play and forcing Ivan Provorov to cough up the puck in the offensive zone. Brown then picked up the loose picket and rocketed a shot past Felix Sandstrom to make it 1-0.

Nardella would get another assist on the power play just minutes later, and it would be Strome’s turn to shine. Working the half wall on the Capitals power play in this bout, Strome conducted the play. He passed to Marcus Johansson, who then gave it to Nardella at the point. That’s when Strome got open for a picture-perfect one-timer, which made it 2-0 for Washington.
