A whopping 33 shots wasn’t enough to get the Hershey Bears on the scoreboard Saturday night, allowing the Coachella Valley Firebirds to shut them out for the second time in as many Calder Cup Finals games.

The performance of Coachella Valley goalie Joey Daccord, who is the first netminder since 1939 with two-straight shutouts to open the Finals, resulted in the Bears 4-0 demise. And with that, the Firebirds now hold a 2-0 series lead.

After a scoreless first period, Coachella Valley opened up the game with all four of its goals in the second period.

Neither team found the net in the third period, solidifying Coachella Valley’s Game 2 win.
