While one of the league’s oldest teams stands to get even older, the addition of center Dalibor Dvorsky would add young talent at a premium position to the Washington Capitals organization.

Dvorsky, a center, is the third-best international skater, according the NHL Central Scouting, and widely viewed as a safe choice in the early first round. He’s everything a team would want at the center position, drawing widespread praise for his puck skills and offensive prowess. Some analysts say that his skating ability needs work, especially after turning 18 on June 15.

“Dalibor is a quick forward with excellent offensive instincts and vision,” NHL director of European Scouting Goran Stubb told NHL.com. “There is room for more physical strengths but he’s surprisingly effective in battles, and usually comes out on top. He’s trusted by the coach and playing big minutes.”

Unlike Michkov, Dvorsky isn’t bound by an extensive overseas contract, and could come to make an impact in the NHL as Nicklas Backstrom, Alex Ovechkin and others are on their way to retirement.
