As the offseason continues, the Washington Capitals appear pretty much set on the NHL Free Agency front going into training camp. However, other teams, including a couple of familiar Metropolitan Division opponents, still have work to do.

There’s still trade chatter and free agency talks, while other RFAs are also dealing with salary arbitration.

• Strome and Connor Brown are set to speak on Tuesday for the first time since joining Washington. General manager Brian MacLellan will be available on Tuesday.
• Speaking of MacLellan, he said last week that Tom Wilson’s recovery has been going well. Speaking of Wilson, Lapierre had nothing but good things to say about No. 43. Wilson took a young Hendrix under his wing back when the Quebec native was a rookie, and for No. 29, that inspired him to be more confident.
• Looking at the current Capitals roster and newest additions, I believe they did a great job filling their voids and it will pay off in a competitive Metro next season.
