NOT SO FAST: Oshie Forces OT In Elimination Game For Capitals

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Heading into the dying minutes of regulation, the Washington Capitals appeared down and out, their season almost over as they trailed 3-2 after a late goal against in an elimination Game 6 against the Florida Panthers. But T.J. Oshie said not so fast.

With 1:03 remaining in the game, Oshie crashed the net, where he tipped in a bouncing puck to tie the game 3-3 and force overtime. Anthony Mantha and Evgeny Kuznetsov picked up the assists.

The goal is Oshie’s sixth of the playoffs. He leads the Capitals in goals this postseason, and four of those have come off the power play.
