GOTTA SEE IT: Sonny Milano Scores, Off To Red-Hot Start With Hershey
After signing him to a one-year deal, the Washington Capitals wanted Sonny Milano to get back up to game speed down with the Hershey Bears before jumping into NHL action. And so far, he’s been capitalizing on that opportunity.
In his Hershey debut this weekend against the Charlotte Checkers, Milano picked up his first point on a great pass that turned into a secondary assist on Friday, and on Saturday, he kept things going with his first goal in the organization.
Thanks to great net-front presence on the power play, the 26-year-old deflected in a Mike Vecchione point shot to give the Bears a 2-1 lead in the second period of Saturday’s tilt.

Milano became a UFA after being released from his PTO with the Calgary Flames. He had a solid showing with the Anaheim Ducks last season, dishing 14 goals and 20 assists for 34 points in 66 games while having solid chemistry with Trevor Zegras. Washington inked Milano to a one-year, one-way deal worth $750,000 last week.
