ARLINGTON, V.A. — The Washington Capitals have recalled goaltender Zach Fucale from the Hershey Bears as Darcy Kuemper deals with an upper-body injury that caused him to leave practice early on Saturday.

Kuemper played the entirety of the Capitals' 5-2 loss to the St. Louis Blues on Friday and was on the ice to kick off practice on Saturday, but he left just seven minutes in. He appeared to be experiencing discomfort as he spoke with trainers before leaving the ice surface. It is unclear what happened to the 32-year-old netminder.

Fucale's recall likely means that Charlie Lindgren will get the start on Sunday in his home state of Minnesota as Washington faces the Wild.

Through 33 games with Hershey this season, Fucale is 19-10-2 with a .899 save percentage, 2.57 GAA and one shutout.
