Washington Capitals forward Tom Wilson is officially a married man.

Wilson and his longtime girlfriend, Canadian volleyball star Taylor Pischke, tied the knot on Saturday in D.C. in front of friends and family. The 28-year-old is the third Capitals player to get married this offseason. Teammates Nicklas Backstrom and Dylan Strome also had weddings over the summer. Former Washington netminder Vitek Vanecek also tied the knot this offseason — and got traded from the Capitals on the weekend of his nuptials.

The rehearsal dinner was on Friday and the ceremony on Saturday. Current and former teammates Backstrom, Nick Jensen, Trevor van Riemsdyk, John Carlson, T.J. Oshie, Carl Hagelin, Braden Holtby, Brenden Dillon and more were in attendance.

In preparation for the wedding, Wilson also got his haircut in Ballston, Virginia, at Bearded Goat Barber near Washington’s practice facility. However, he has not been on the ice, as he is still recovering from a torn ACL suffered back in May.

Wilson is coming off a career year with Washington that saw him dish 24 goals and 28 assists for 52 points in 78 games. He also scored the series-opening goal against the Florida Panthers in the 2022 Stanley Cup Playoffs. However, he tore his ACL just 1:31 minutes into Game 1. Wilson underwent surgery this offseason and has been rehabilitating. He is on the LTIR and is likely to return to game action at some point in December.

For now, though, the fan favorite is celebrating his wedding. And he did so with family, friends and teammates.
