The Capitals select Ryan Chesley

The Washington Capitals made a big move on Friday just minutes before the second round of the 2022 NHL Draft kicked off, acquiring the No. 37 pick and No. 70 pick in exchange for netminder Vitek Vanecek and their No. 47 pick. And, with the pack, Washington took U.S. NTDP defenseman Ryan Chesley.

Chesley is a right-hand shot and ranked No. 18 among North American skaters. In 59 games this season, he dished 12 goals and 17 assists.
