ARLINGTON, V.A. — The Washington Capitals are back in action at Capital One Arena for one final preseason game before the regular season, taking on the Columbus Blue Jackets.

As was the case with Wednesday’s tilt against the Detroit Red Wings, the Saturday game will see several regulars dress, but also a couple of fringe players in their final exhibition game ahead of decisions for the opening night roster.

Not on the roster: forward T.J. Oshie, who suffered an upper-body injury on Wednesday, and Dmitry Orlov, who is dealing with a lower-body injury. Both are day-to-day. Orlov has missed the last two skates, and Oshie skated on his own on Friday ahead of practice.

Here’s the full roster for Saturday. The puck drops at 7 p.m. at Capital One Arena.

Forwards: Alex Ovechkin, Henrik Borgstrom, Dylan Strome, Lars Eller, Garnet Hathaway, Connor McMichael, Nic Dowd, Connor Brown, Anthony Mantha, Aliaksei Protas, Conor Sheary, Marcus Johansson, Joe Snively, Evgeny Kuznetsov

Defensemen: Nick Jensen, Martin Fehervary, Lucas Johansen, Matt Irwin, Erik Gustafsson, Trevor van Riemsdyk, John Carlson

Goaltenders: Darcy Kuemper, Charlie Lindgren

Lars Eller and Henrik Borgstrom are the forward scratches, and Matt Irwin is the defensive scratch.

Some names to watch: Joe Snively and Aliaksei Protas will all play in their final preseason game. Lucas Johansen will suit up as well. These players have one last chance to show what they can do in a game before decisions are made. Meanwhile, Axel Jonsson-Fjallby and Brett Leason will not play and will be healthy scratches, and will not get another game to show their potential.

Also look to Connor McMichael to make noise after a strong showing on Wednesday where he had a goal and assist. He’s still eyeing a top-6 role, as well as a spot in the lineup with Protas on the rise.

Darcy Kuemper will play the full 60. Kuemper played the full game on Wednesday, stopping 31 of 33 shots (.939 save percentage) and coming up big with some strong saves. Charlie Lindgren, meanwhile, has played in three preseason games, stopping 41 of 43 total shots against (.953 SV%).
