Capitals’ Laviolette Tests Out Of COVID-19 Protocol, Will Coach vs. Florida

After missing the last two games due to COVID-19, Washington Capitals head coach Peter Laviolette will be back behind the bench for Tuesday’s tilt with the Florida Panthers.

Laviolette has tested negative and is officially out of protocol. He will be behind the bench in Sunrise. Assistant coach Kevin McCarthy had coached the last two games for the Capitals in Laviolette’s place. He went 1-1 in the home-and-home with the Tampa Bay Lightning.

It’s a welcome sign for Washington, who is coming off arguably its worst game of the season in Tampa on Sunday.
