RALEIGH, N.C. — The Washington Capitals have re-assigned Dylan McIlrath to the Hershey Bears ahead of Saturday's Stadium Series game, and it appears that Tom Wilson could likely return outdoors against the Carolina Hurricanes.

Per the media site, Tom Wilson has been taken off the injured reserve, and McIlrath's re-assignment allowed him to be activated.

Wilson has not played since Jan. 24 against the Colorado Avalanche. Just eight games into his return from offseason ACL surgery, Wilson suffered another lower-body injury after blocking a Brad Hunt slapshot from close range.

No. 43 has been taking part in practices and was a full go at the outdoor practice and family skate on Friday.

Head coach Peter Laviolette added that he, along with Nic Dowd, who is still on the IR since suffering a lower-body injury on Jan. 16, are "close." Marcus Johansson is also dealing with an ailment after being hurt on Thursday, but he was also a full participant in Friday's practice and skate.
