Washington Capitals defenseman Martin Fehervary wasn't trying to score against the Columbus Blue Jackets, but a play in front of the net led to him scoring one of the strangest goals of the 2022-23 season.

Fehervary was setting up a screen in front of the net in the second period as Washington piled on the pressure in search of the go-ahead goal. Dylan Strome got a hold of the puck in front and fired a quick shot on goal, and Fehervary jumped up to get out of the puck's way. Fehervary is now up to three goals on the season. Strome and Alex Alexeyev were credited with the helpers on that tally, which put the Capitals up 3-2.
