ARLINGTON, V.A. — The Washington Capitals got some good news on the injury front as they packed their bags and took off for Long Island, as Nick Jensen and Martin Fehervary both continued to make progress while Vincent Iorio was loaned back to the AHL's Hershey Bears.

Jensen and Fehervary, along with John Carlson and all Washington skaters, are on the team's mentors trip up to New York. The hope is that either Jensen or Fehervary will return at some point as the team faces the New York Islanders and New York Rangers in key divisional matchups.

Both Jensen and Fehervary both skated at Friday's optional practice in contact jerseys. The blueliners were hurt in the March 1 game against the Anaheim Ducks, with Jensen suffering an upper-body injury and Fehervary sustaining a lower-body injury.

Neither player is on the injured reserve, and each is listed as day-to-day.

Iorio's return to Hershey is a good indicator that either Fehervary or Jensen will be ready to go at some point on the New York trip as the team faces the New York Islanders and New York Rangers. Gabriel Carlsson remains up with the big club.
