ARLINGTON, V.A. — The Washington Capitals got more business done on Friday, signing Alexander Suzdalev and Ludwig Persson to three-year, entry-level contracts.

Both Persson and Suzdalev have been at Capitals development camp this week. They will play in Friday’s scrimmage at Capital One Arena. Their deals will pay $775,000 in each of their first two seasons and pay $800,000 at the NHL level and $82,500 at the AHL level in the final year.

Suzdalev went 70th overall in the 2022 NHL Draft. He hails from the Swedish Jr. league and played in 45 games with HV 71 last season, scoring 15 goals and 31 assists.

The Russian has great hands and speed, and he also takes good care of the puck as well. He is a versatile forward who can make plays on the fly and picture-perfect passes, and he also uses his 6-2, 175-pound frame to his advantage.
