Orlov, Oshie Take Part In Capitals Optional Skate Amid Injuries
ARLINGTON, V.A. — The Washington Capitals forward T.J. Oshie and defenseman Dmitry Orlov were both on the ice early on Saturday, getting some work in as they deal with upper and lower-body ailments.
Both are in blue jerseys, indicating non-contact, but they are staying on the ice for the optional skate and skating, passing and shooting. Head coach Peter Laviolette listed them both as day-to-day. Neither one is listed on the roster for Washington’s preseason tilt against the Columbus Blue Jackets.

Oshie was hurt in Wednesday’s preseason victory over the Detroit Red Wings. He took a hard hit along the boards from Joe Veleno and appeared to injure his shoulder. He did not return to game action. Meanwhile, it is unclear what Orlov’s injury is, though he did finish Wednesday’s tilt.
