GOTTA SEE IT: Lindgren Comes Up With Save Of The Year Candidate vs. Vegas
WASHINGTON — Making his first start at home, Washington Capitals goaltender Charlie Lindgren introduced himself to fans in the best way possible: with a blockbuster save.
Just minutes into regulation, the Vegas Golden Knights saw Reilly Smith and Jonathan Marchessault go on a 2-on-1 break. Smith’s pass to Marchessault was on the tape and he thought he had a surefire goal on the one-time feed, but Lindgren said no.
The 28-year-old sprawled across in the knick of time, robbing Marchessault with the blocker. Here’s the save.
