Capitals forward Carl Hagelin

The Washington Capitals will see another player draw out of the lineup, and this time, it’s Carl Hagelin.

Hagelin entered the NHL’s COVID-19 protocol on Monday just hours before puck drop against the Boston Bruins. He joins Dmitry Orlov, who entered protocol on Monday as well. Hagelin, however, took part in the Capitals morning skate and was on skating on the fourth line with Nic Dowd and Garnet Hathaway.

Although Hagelin hasn’t been consistent offensively, he has provided a lot of support on the penalty kill. Through 36 games, he has two goals and seven points and is a plus-6.

On the bright side, Washington will see Nicklas Backstrom and T.J. Oshie draw back in against Boston. Both have been out with the flu and will play in their first game since Dec. 31.

Zach Fucale will start in goal for the Capitals. Puck drop is at 7 p.m. at Capital One Arena.
