There’s 742: Ovechkin Passes Hull For Fourth On NHL’s All-Time Goals List

Washington Capitals captain Alex Ovechkin has made history once again.
The 36-year-old fired an absolute rocket past Columbus Blue Jackets goaltender Joonas Korpisalo for his 742nd NHL goal, moving him past Brett Hull for fourth on the NHL’s all-time goals list. Ovechkin’s goal came midway through the first period and evened the score after Sean Kuraly struck early on in the game.

The Russian ranks second in the league in goals (12). He now has 23 points in 14 games to open the 2021-22 campaign. He’s off to the best start of his 17-season career so far.
Ovechkin is now 153 goals away from passing Wayne Gretzky for the all-time record.
