WASHINGTON — Washington Capitals captain Alex Ovechkin has made history once again.

The 37-year-old scored his seventh goal of the season and career goal No. 787, moving him past Gordie Howe for the most goals with one team in NHL history.

Ovechkin scored, classically, on a one-timer against the Arizona Coyotes on Saturday.

Ovechkin is now 13 goals away from 800, 15 from passing Howe for second on the NHL’s all-time goals list and 108 from breaking Gretzky’s all-time scoring record of 894 goals.
