The Capitals stood pat and will pick eighth in June’s NHL entry draft. Connor Bedard appears headed to the Chicago Blackhawks, who jumped from No. 3 to the top spot. [WHN]

Hershey Bears standout Michael Sgarbossa has agreed to a two-year, two-way contract extension with the Capitals. The 30-year-old center led the team with 58 points last season. [WHN]
