Hockey Now Headlines: Caps Rookie Camp Storylines, Phil Kessel
Washington Capitals Rookie Camp is more than halfway done with Day Three underway at McMullen Hockey Arena in Annapolis, Maryland. The last day of camp takes place tomorrow. Goalie ice, like the other three days, starts at 10:30 A.M., followed by practice for the full camp list from 11:00 A.M. until 12:30 P.M. For those who would like to come, the sessions are open to the public. Attending is free of charge. With all of that being said, here are some Hockey Now Headlines for Sunday, September 15.

Washington Hockey Now: Two players from the Capitals’ 2024 NHL Draft class stood out on Day 1 of Capitals rookie camp. I discuss forwards Eriks Mateiko and Ilya Protas following their first day at camp.

Sportsnet: Longtime NHL winger Phil Kessel wants to still play in the NHL. He last suited up for the Vegas Golden Knights in 2022-23, where he won his third Stanley Cup. He had 14 goals and 22 assists for 36 points in 82 games that season. In his career, Kessel has played in 1,286 games and accrued 992 points (413 goals and 579 assists).
