Hockey Now Headlines: Capitals Rookie Camp, Robertson, PTOs

Washington Capitals’ rookie camp is one day away. The first session starts on Friday, September 13, at McMullen Hockey Arena in Annapolis, Maryland. Each day’s session begins with goalie ice at 10:30 A.M. The rookie camp practice then starts at 11:00 A.M. and goes until 12:30 P.M. The camp goes from September 13-16. The sessions are all open to the public. Admission is free of charge.



Hockey Now Headlines: Washington Capitals

Washington Hockey Now: The Washington Capitals announced their player list for their rookie camp. Some of the players participating include 2024 first-round pick Terik Parascak, defenseman Leon Muggli, forward Andrew Cristall, and goalie Garin Bjorklund.

Washington Hockey Now: After projecting the potential forward lines for the Capitals, here are the projected defensive pairings for Washington in 2024-25.

NHL.com: Former Washington Capitals forward Max Pacioretty signed a professional tryout agreement with the Toronto Maple Leafs. Last season for Washington, Pacioretty had four goals and registered 19 assists for 23 points in 47 games.

Daily Faceoff: Matt Larkin discusses Washington Capitals captain Alex Ovechkin and when the superstar winger could score his 895th goal. Ovechkin currently has 853 goals. He is 42 away from passing Wayne Gretzky’s all-time goals record.

Pittsburgh Hockey Now: The Pittsburgh Penguins announced that prospect Tanner Howe suffered a facial injury.

Pittsburgh Hockey Now: Pittsburgh Penguins captain and superstar Sidney Crosby commented on contract extension talks. Last season, he scored 42 goals and 52 assists for 94 points in 82 games.

New Jersey Hockey Now: The New Jersey Devils provide an injury update on defenseman Luke Hughes.

Toronto Maple Leafs: Forward Nick Robertson re-signs with the team on a one-year contract worth $875,000.

Utah Hockey Club Twitter/X: The Utah Hockey Club signed winger Kailer Yamamoto to a PTO. Yamamoto has played in the NHL so far for the Edmonton Oilers and Seattle Kraken. Last season, he scored eight goals and eight assists for 16 points in 59 games for the Kraken.

New York Islanders Hockey Now: Goalie Keith Kinkaid joins the New York Islanders on a PTO. He played the 2023-24 campaign in the AHL for the Chicago Wolves.

Colorado Hockey Now: Forward Pierre-Edouard Bellemare has returned to the Colorado Avalanche on a PTO. He last played for the Avalanche during the 2020-21 season. Last season for the Seattle Kraken, Bellemare produced seven points in 40 games (four goals and three assists).

Vegas Hockey Now: The LTIR rule may change in the NHL soon. GMs are looking to make changes after the Vegas Golden Knights used the rule in consecutive seasons.
