The Hershey Bears shook off the bad vibes pretty quickly.

Two days after the team’s worst showing in the 2023 Calder Cup Playoffs — a 5-1 loss to the Rochester Americans — the Bears were able to bounce back, shutting out the Americans en route to a 2-0 win in Game 2 of the AHL’s Eastern Conference Finals.

Bears forward Henrik Borgstrom opened up the scoring in the second period, batting one past Rochester goalie Malcolm Subban. Beck Malenstyn added Hershey’s second goal minutes later, giving the Bears a 2-0 lead headed into the third period.

Hershey goalie Hunter Shepard saved all 24 of the Americans’ shots, giving the Bears their first shutout of the playoffs.
