Hershey Bears One Win From Calder Cup Finals

Published

on

A four-goal third period lifted the Hershey Bears from a defeated squad to one only a game away from the Calder Cup Finals.

A Mason Morelli score with less than five minutes remaining — and a second Morelli goal moments later — pushed the Bears ahead en route to a 4-2 victory.

The Americans opened the scoring in the first period before adding a second goal in the following period. All the while goalie Malcolm Subban thrived, blocking all 15 of Hershey’s shots across the two periods.

In the third period, the Bears’ comeback efforts quickly took off. Lucas Johansen put the team on the board first, followed by a Logan Day goal two minutes later. Morelli then added the game-winning goal before adding an empty netter to seal Rochester’s fate.

With the win, the Bears hold a 3-1 lead in the best-of-7 series.
