Hershey Bears Hold On For 4-2 Win, Gain Series Lead

The Hershey Bears are two wins away from the 2023 Calder Cup Finals.

Bears goalie Hunter Shepard saved 31 of 33 shots in Saturday’s Game 3 of the Eastern Conference Finals, preventing the Rochester Americans from overtaking Hershey’s lead and resulting in a 4-2 Bears win.

Two early goals — one from Logan Day, the other from Sam Anas — propelled Hershey ahead early.

Rochester got on the board for the first time in the second period, but a Connor McMichael score minutes later pushed the Bears ahead 3-1.

In the third period, the American added another goal to draw within one. But an empty-net goal from Hershey’s Aliaksei Protas in the game’s final minutes cemented the Bears’ win.
